Family of Grace

“Lake Vida lies in Victoria Valley on the continent of Antarctica. It is isolated under year-round ice cover, and it came to public attention in 2002 when microbes frozen in its ice cover for more than 2,800 years were successfully thawed and reanimated” (Wikipedia). Post–Easter living explores the power and promise of Jesus Christ to “reanimate” all of life. If a 2,800 year old microbe can reanimate after being placed in a nutrient rich environment, so can our life reanimate when we’re surrounded by an Easter community of people who love God, love one another, and love their neighbor.

Sunday, April 6, Reanimated...for holy living Acts 2:14a, 36-41

Sunday, April 13 Reanimated...for genuine community Acts 2:42-47

Sunday, April 20 Reanimated...for selfless giving Acts 7:55-60

Sunday, April 27 Reanimated...for loving others Acts 17:22-31

The Alpha Course

“The Alpha Course”…. is a practical introduction to the Christian Faith. What is the point of life? What relevance does the Bible have for our lives today?

Over twelve thought-provoking weekly sessions, (Wednesday Evenings 6:30-8:30) Alpha guests share meals, listen to a series of talks, and then have small group discussions. It addresses foundational questions while providing guests with an opportunity to explore the meaning of life. Each talk covers a fundamental question, such as; “Who is Jesus?” “Why and How do I Pray?” and “Does God Heal Today?”

More than 8 million people the world over have attended the Alpha Course. They have been profoundly challenged by its fresh and engaging introduction to the Christian faith. People come from many backgrounds and hold differing viewpoints, but most come with the same basic objective; to establish whether God and Jesus Christ have any relevance for their lives.

The Alpha course is free. There is no obligation. It begins, right here in your Lea Hill neighborhood, at Family of Grace Lutheran Church, 6:00 – 8:30 pm., Sunday evening, June 1.
